If you are working on something that you really care about, you don't have to be pushed. The vision pulls you...
The USDA defines food insecurity as a lack of access to enough food for all household members. Food insecurity exists in every county in America. In fact, in 2013 roughly seventeen and a half million households suffered food insecurities. As it stands, 1 in every six Americans face hunger needs.
Many of us have never had to wonder where our next meal would come from. We go about our daily lives enjoying and, more than likely, taking for granted the ease of access we have to food, as well as the ability to obtain and consume it quickly. However, there are people in this county, town, and maybe even your neighborhood, who live in unending fear of where, or when, their next meal might come from. This is why The Soup Kitchen exists... At The Soup Kitchen, we gather food, supplies, volunteers, God's word, and anyone with an appetite. We bring them all together and provide many, less fortunate than ourselves, with a full stomach, while the Lord provides them a full heart. Our volunteers are just ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Children, veterans, and those just down on their luck can enjoy a good meal, friendly conversation, and God's greatest gift... HOPE!! Our goal is to help those in need, whether it's from a welcoming ear, or a hot meal. We're hard working, passionate people, who love lending a hand. So, come lend a hand or enjoy a hot meal, at The Soup Kitchen, the weather may be cold, but the people aren't.
